Shivati is a vivid Modern Middle Eastern Dance Artist inspired & experienced in delighting & captivating audiences through belly dance. Shivati has primarily studied
ATS and Tribal belly dance beginning in 2001. She now aspires to attain as much knowledge of Middle Eastern dance and
its history that she can so she may deliver her most honest and fresh
interpretations. She currently studies under Angelique in New Paltz, NY
in the Suhaila Salimpour dance format and is also a member of the
Angelique Bellydance Collective. She is enrolled in the Suhaila
Salimpour school of dance, presently holding a level 1 certification.
Shivati performs for many formal and informal private and public
events, as well sharing her knowledge with beginners in ATS and private

Formerly of tribal fusion duo Sangiore and founding member of GTS troupe Twisted Tassels, Shivati has a broad base in tribal and ATS. Shivati taught beginner tribal/ ATS for over 3 years and has performed at a variety of venues. As part of Sangiore and in conjunction with accomplished performer, Willow, she has hosted a regular event Tribal Fire! and 7 workshop/ haflas over 5 years, sponsering many instructors and performers including, Asharah, Perizad of Twisted Tassels, Romka, Shakra Dancers of the Tribal Grove, Hipnosis, Hajai, and others.

Accompanied by an extensive warm-up and cool-down, we delve into Tribal Fusion, the basics, posture, theology history and vernacular. Shivati will take us through a variety of beginner to intermediate technical drills based on ATS style and the popular fusion culture movement.
